Chris' opponent and some city unions launched an advertising campaign based on untruths, misrepresentations and distortions.
Here's the truth - with the documentation to support it.
Lie #1: Chris has the worst Assembly attendance record.
Truth: Chris has not missed a regular assembly meeting the past three years.
Lie #2: Chris did nothing to restore funding for Upper Hillside Fire Station.
Truth: Chris and his South Anchorage Assembly colleague found a funding solution to save an engine and nine positions.
Lie #3: Chris never makes Community Council meetings.
Truth: Chris and his South Anchorage Assembly colleague divide up the Community Council meetings. Chris attends them on a regular basis, and when invited to address specific issues. And, he's always available via phone and email.

Lie #4: Chris missed the vote on the Taxpayer Protection Ordinance.
Truth: Chris participated via teleconference and proudly cast one of five votes to put this issue on the ballot - it takes eight to place a charter amendment on the ballot. The six "liberal" members of the Assembly voted against it - although they changed their minds after listening to voters and on March 29, the Assembly passed the Birch co-sponsored Taxpayer Protection Ordinance.
Lie #5: Chris was AWOL on Hillside plan.
Truth: This charge came from left field. "I actively participated in the Hillside plan from the beginning and even introduced the budget amendment to fund it. The AWOL charge is totally without merit."
